The Bistreaux at Maison Dupuy: This is one of New Orleans best kept secrets, although we don’t know how! Chef Jason Schwartz creates “comfort food” dishes with a unique edge. He blends traditional New Orleans-style cuisine with his own creations to for a one-of-a-kind experience. Our favorites: the Truffle Mac & Cheese—cavatappi pasta, smoked Gouda, and Parmesan cheese drizzled with truffle oil, and Pecan Shrimp—four shrimp tossed in pecan glaze served with Stone Mill grits cakes and watermelon salsa.
Terrence Café at Hotel Le Richelieu: This quaint café is perfect for a quick breakfast bite or lunch on the go. Open from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., enjoy an assortment of tasty breakfast items with complimentary coffee served all day or a soup and sandwich before heading out to explore the scenic French Quarter. Our choice: the soft cinnamon roll covered with cream cheese icing and topped with fresh fruit.
Angeline at Hotel Provincial: The newly opened Angeline features Southern food with a refined touch. Since its opening. the restaurant has received rave reviews.
Streetcar Restaurant at Holiday Inn Superdome: Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this full service restaurant serves up creative takes on New Orleans classics such as Jambalaya and Red Beans and Rice along with contemporary American cuisine. While you’re there, scope out the authentic Louisiana artwork on the walls. Our must eat pick: Pork Chop Plate—two marinated pork chops cooked to perfection.
